Last week, we had a guest speaker from
leadership center talking about the StrengthsQuest test. We had several
activities about our strengths. First we had a writing challenge. We tried not to
use our dominated hands to write. It turned out the word I wrote is really awesome.
It inspired me that if people forced to change their weakness into their
strength, it would take so long and that is not recommendable. Instead I would
rather spend time on develop our strength. By understanding this, I looked into
my strengths resulted from the test. I found that one of my theme of is quite
special, at least I didn’t see it on other’s report and that is Relator. “You
want to understand their feelings, their goals, their fears, and their dreams;
and you want them to understand yours. You know that this kind of closeness
implies a certain amount of risk—you might be taken advantage of—but you are
willing to accept that risk.” This is my favourite part in the report. I think
it is quite true for me. I enjoy close relationships with others and I find
deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal. This is what
I have been trying to do.
