Chapter 8 Response
I found this chapter to be really interesting because it dealt with happiness-something that I never really thought would be discussed in a textbook. It was cool to read about the different cultures and the ways in which people described their happiness as compared with other countries and cultures. It was especially notable that people in other countries do not consider money to be paramount to happiness as we do here in the United States. Although I don't think money is essential for happiness, I do think that it is much easier to be happy with other aspects of your life if you have at least enough money to live comfortably and not be worried about survival. It was also interesting to see that countries that are poorer in general are considered extremely happy. I would assume that this is because they are happy with what the know and are not constantly yearning for something more as we are in America,
