This chapter is about uncertainty avoidance. After reading this, many things come to my mind.
The first one is that many students are crazy about civil service exam. People want to work for the government and have a stable salary every month instead of working for the company. Short working time, stable salary, and low unemploymen rate lead to their craze about chasing the government work. I think this phoenomenon results from strong uncertainty avoidance. Since there will be less uncertain things happen if working for the government.
The second thing that came to my mind is that so many women don't have boyfriends even until late thirties. An important factor of this phoenomenon is that women and their parents have many requirements when women choosing their partners. If a man want to get married, the parents of the women may ask them if they have apartments, cars and high salary. If not, they may not be considered as good partners for single women. Partly reason of this pheonomenon, I think, is that parents want their children take less risks and tiredness after they get married. They want others to provide a good life for their daughters. It's a way to use other's resource to avoid uncertainty.
I think people from a society with strong uncertainty avoidance tend to be more realistic. They don't dare to dream and take adventures. That's not what I want in my life.
