week 7 reaction Ryo

In the last class, we discussed the uncertainty avoidance in each country. We did some activity. One of them is to take questions to know how much uncertainty avoidance we are. My result shows high uncertainty avoidance level as I expected.  Also we divided into two groups and debated about which is better, lifetime employment or changing job. Although I was in the group of the lifetime employment, I personally prefer to change jobs in my entire life. This is because I think that it is difficult to find the job that is suitable for me and I am excited to do if I would work only in one company in the whole life. We could not understand the worth of the work unless we actually would work in the company. In the lifetime employment society, we have to judge the contents of the work before actually working there, just by talking with people about the job or searching for information on the Internet. It is true that lifetime employment feel very stable for workers. However, in the modern times, lifetime employment has been declining recently because of the globalized rapid market. For example, Japanese companies, which adopted typical lifetime employment system, try to adopt the more fluid worker system by adopting more foreign workers in order to keep up with the global market. In the lifetime employment system, there is less efficient because there is much less competition within the company. Therefore, in the modern times, the more fluid worker system would be the mainstream and each people are required to have specific skill and adaptability in order to win through this competitive world worker market.
