Thanks Esther, Ben and Maia for preparing
such a meaningful class for us. I appreciated the game, the debate and the questionnaire.
And I wish I could hear better in the video they shown. I would like to spend
more words on the game. I really love this kind of game. It is simple but it
brings the idea of the theme. That is “uncertainty avoidance”. We fell back
while our friends hold us at the back. We can’t see and so we didn’t know if
they are ready. For longer time you hesitated, the more uncertain feeling you
gained since we were blindfolded.
Actually, I repeated falling back several
time in my dorm after the classes finished. And my partner was the one who I
stay with everyday and that was my bed. All I can say is it was really scary. As
I am a “relator”, I trusted my friends a lot. They are better partners for me.
This comparison reminds me a movie I saw before called “A world without thieves”.
In the movie, a naïve village boy believes that thieves don’t exist in the
world. He showed his money around and was confident that nobody was going to
hurt him. “I have worked with the wolves for so long. They are fierce but they
never hurt me. I don’t believe human being will hurt their species. ” It was a
meaningful movie. He trusted his ”friends” more than his wolves. Although the
situation is somehow different but I did trusted my friends more than my bed. I
also memorize a game that is similar to this one. We walked on the street under
other’s instructions with our eyes blindfolded. It was also an interesting one
I guess.
