Chapter 9 accentuated the topics of power distance and uncertainty avoidance in the market or in terms of the dichotomy of the economic world. It explains how there are different models that portray these characteristics of certain countries who model their economic sector with a either a strong/weak sense of uncertainty avoidance and a strong/weak sense of power distance. For example, the French has organizations that practice full bureaucracy and standardization of work process, which goes with uncertainty avoidance and high power distance. While the Chinese also has a high power distance, it also has a high uncertainty avoidance which can really relate to the Chinese culture. It is evident by looking at China's communist government that they give all power to one person to have complete control. While in Germany and many European countries, they have characteristics of dividing the work. They have philosophy that goes hand in hand with being efficient and effective at the same time.

It's interesting by looking at these models and see how you can easily see how the environment int he workplace and has it is run, shows a lot about the country itself and its' culture. Looking at China and how they have a very strict economic sector and that only a few have power in these economic upbringings shows the class separations. How easy it is for those in power to be corrupt. It's interesting how closely related the economic section is within a country and how one can interpret the country as a whole and dissect certain cultural intakes.
