In the last class, we watched the tourism video about Macau and the United States. We could watch the traditional Macau culture from the video although some casinos that represents modern culture are the part of the video. On the other hand, the video about the United States show people from all over the countries or other countries’ culture. I was wondering about what is the distinct American culture. America is the most influential country in the world in terms of economy. But in terms of culture, there might be not clear culture because the American students in the class could not say anything when they were asked what American distinct culture is to introduce foreigners. In homogeneous country such as Japan, we have distinct culture different from other countries. Since ancient times, people with the same race have made the sense of value. In that environment where people with the same background and race, it is easy to create their own culture. I do not say that there is no American culture, but want to say that although it is difficult for the U.S. with multiracial society to create their own peculiar culture, American culture is reflected from cultures of many countries. America is a multicultural country which consists of people from many race. Also America was established about 240 years ago. Since then people from all over the countries entered the United States and have made this country. In that sense, the diversity might be the American representation or culture.
People from all over the countries gather in the U.S., establish the System together and share their value each other and advance into the future under the direction of the President Obama.
The way that people cooperate each other overcoming difficulties and conflicts is the attraction of the United States and the reason why the U.S. is a powerful country that lead the world.

Also, we wrote about ourselves in the chart in the paper in the class. The words that I wrote are almost  just the fact such as Japanese, Asian, no-religion, a student. I found that it is hard to know ourselves without title. We cannot watch ourselves and to know how we look like, we have to be told by others. However, we feel the gap between what others perceive us and what we are thinking or perceive ourselves. In that sense, I thought it is difficult to identify ourselves. Probably, humans grow while wondering about their identity and keep thinking who they are.
