Week 3 Reaction

I really enjoyed class this week! I thought that the activity that we did where we were famous people was a good indication of cultural differences. It was interesting to see how most of us were only aware of the famous people from our own countries, and even when given really good clues as to who we were, we were unable to figure it out because we had no idea who the person was because they were from a foreign country. I also enjoyed the video that we watched about Macau, and it was nice to see some of the things that one can do there. I actually was pretty moved by the video for the US, but I think that it definitely did a better job of helping to establish pride for citizens rather than promoting tourism for people from foreign countries. I thought that the sheets we filled out were a good icebreaker and it was interesting to compare my choices with the ones that Katherine made. I still can't quite figure out a good answer to the question about what can be considered quintessentially American!!
