Week 4 Reaction (Esther)

Last class, we watched three videos, which were about promoting tourism of China, Japan and the USA.  Each one was unique and different from the others.  I saw many familiar places in China, which made me feel homesick.  There were many smiling faces from different minorities of China.  In the Japanese video, it was peaceful and calm.  Few people appeared in the video.  The scenery there was absorbing and fascinating.  I really want to visit Japan next year.  As for the American one, there were also many smiling faces, which showed that the USA people were friendly.  The most important characteristic of American culture is the varieties of races and ethnicities.  From these videos, I found that not only did the videos show different things of the country, but also the ways people show them are different.
The most interesting part of last class was to act out the different power distance level in different situation.  It was a lot of fun and easy for us to understand what power distance is and how it affects people's life.  I think it's a good method to let student learn better and have fun.
