This week we studied the culture difference.
We separated into two groups to act the Alpha
Culture and the Beta culture. In Alpha culture, we need to touch when we are
Chatting . Shake hand is considered as insulting .Beside this, there exist a big hierarchy between male and female. The king is the most powerful in this
Culture. Beta culture is very different. They more focus on the trading card.
Most of the communication in Beta culture is due to the trading. Since their
The culture is quite different, during the observation, they cannot understand what
is going on at another culture. It is a very funny ways to learn the culture. From
this simple activity, we know that cultural diversity causes enormous problems in
communication. The rules and the ways to communicate will restrict the
foreigner. We also get some similar experience after we come to US such as the
language , the lifestyle. I hope we can explore more about the US culture during
this semester.
