Last Friday’s class was fun and meaningful! Although
we played a game through most of the class, all of us learnt something from the
interesting “culture visiting “game. Unlike the traditional paper and text
based learning, we got chances to actually experience how difficult it is for
two totally different cultures to communicate with each other, understanding
the functions as well as importance of culture. That kind of remind me of the
ancient time when people leave their home towns and went to different parts of
the world either for business, study or sightseeing. They are so brave and
smart to meet people from different cultures. Take China for example, I am so
curious to know how they made their first trade with foreigners. Since back
then, not many people are capable of speaking foreign languages. Besides
thinking about the unique of different cultures, similarities also occurred to
me. As the so-called globalization phenomenon is obvious an inevitable trend,
cultures seem to fuse with each other under this scenario. Some people
criticized while the others thought it is beneficial for the global society. Yet,
we should really consider this carefully.
