Week 3 Reaction_Ben

We saw the video of Macau and USA in this week, both videos showed the different characteristics, the Macau video concentrated on the traditional aspect of local culture, the mixed culture played a significant role in the Macau's society and it caused Macau as a unique city. I believed that the idea was creative, it promoted the city through a historical and cultural perspective. I really loved it because I'm interested in mixed culture. However, many tourists focused on the gambling and hotels, especially the Chinese tourists, most of them ignored the local culture of Macau, which was the most significant part of this tiny city. I hoped that our classmates can realize the mixed culture through historical and cultural view, not the gambling. 

Furthermore, I did not understand the video of USA totally, I knew that the US government planned to promote the multicultural aspect of United States, but it cannot show the reality of American culture. Actually, I never see that there were a group of people who played various instruments in streets, tourists were difficult to understand what the video was talking about. I born and lived in Macau for twenty years, I really understand the benefits and characteristics of mixed culture, all of us have a same feature, it provided a opportunity to us to know deeply about each other. 

I'm look forward to see the video of China and Japan, how the video show the characteristics and tradition? China and Japan also have a long history, it's attractive to me. I would like to hear the opinion and image of China and Japan from our classmates who came from the different places. Everyone, Happy Chinese New Year!!
