This week, we studied the culture of China and Japan. We compare their promotional video and we found that there are lots of similarity between these two videos. For instance, they both introduce their country from the traditional aspect becomes the modern country. The architectural style are quite similar and they also use Chinese characters. The reason may be they are Asia country and the distance between China and Japan are not too far away compare with the western country. Their culture may be affected by each other.
Beside this, we also study the Power distance of different culture. We role play the high power distance and low power distance in the workplace and the school. It is a very interesting activity to compare the power distance by role play because we can see the difference immediately. In the high power distance, the boss will always true in the company. It is also similar in the school, the teacher will be the center of learning. Conversely, in low power distance, all the people will be treated as equal position. I got a lot of fun to role play in the lessons.
