Happy Chinese New Year!! Wish you a prosperous year of snake!!
When I am writing this post, something pops up in my mind and I just want to write a few lines to share my feeling right now. The Macau Video reminds me of my family, I think they must be celebrating the Lunar New Year now. I wish I were there! It’s my first time to have the Lunar New Year outside my country, it’s a completely different experience to me. It’s not much festival atmosphere here and no holidays for this Chinese traditional festival. However, I think it’s good to experience those differences and share my thoughts with you. J

I was born and grew up in Macau. I have been living there for almost 20 years. I think Macau is a wonderful place worth visiting. The historical buildings, including monuments such as urban squares, streetscapes, churches and temples both reflect the unique assimilation and co-existence of Chinese and Portuguese cultures in Macau, a former Portuguese colony. Since the culture in Macau is the mixture of eastern and western, the festivals that people will celebrate in Macau are diversified. Chinese New Year, Chingming Festival, Chongyang Festival, Easter, Christmas and so on is considered as the public holidays. I think it’s an interesting symbol of the mixture culture in Macau.

I want to know more how the culture is like in different countries. Can’t wait to see the videos in the coming class and hear different points of views and thoughts form my classmates.
